The NIHR Clinical Research Network (NIHR CRN) is the research-delivery part of the NHS, and is made up of co-ordinating and local networks and covers all clinical research areas. It oversees all clinical research and ensures that it is of high quality, recruits the right number of patients and completes on time.
All AMRC charities that award grants across England can become NIHR partners, and their studies can access the NIHR infrastructure for research and get support in gaining NHS and ethical permissions. Researchers can also get training in good clinical practice.
AMRC members that are NIHR partners are also eligible for AcoRD - where certain research activities are provided by the clinical research networks, rather than paid for by the charity.
